PROCESS: The “Ghost Layers” are multiple series of grid works on paper — layers of paintings, one made on top of another, so the ink or dye from the original bleeds into the layers underneath. Each layer is unique while inheriting aspects of the original layer.
These works on paper come from ongiong questions: How much of a true selfhood actually exists? And how much are we just living duplications of our ancestors, our culture, and the identies we were named into?
